The Cadillac Cien (trans: one-hundred) is a concept car by the American manufacturer Cadillac. The Cien first appeared in Gran Turismo 4 and has returned for Gran Turismo 5.

Background[]

The Cadillac Cien was a concept car created by Cadillac and unveiled at the 2002 Detroit Auto Show to celebrate Cadillac's 100th anniversary ("cien" is Spanish for one hundred, which compares the Buick Centieme). It was designed by Simon Cox and was featured in the 2005 film The Island. The Cadillac Cien had a 7.5 L V12 Northstar XV12 engine, which produced 750 hp (559 kW) and 450 lb·ft (610 N·m) of torque. This experimental engine featured direct injection and Displacement on Demand, which allowed the engine to run on only six or fewer cylinders under light load. The Cien was designed at General Motors' Advanced Design Studio in England and built as a fully-working road-going vehicle with the help of the UK-based engineering and motorsport company Prodrive. The Cien's monocoque chassis and body are made of carbon fiber composite and its design was inspired by the F-22 Raptor

Acquisition[]

In Gran Turismo 4[]

The Cien is available to be won from the Easy section of the Rally D'Umbria in the Special Conditions hall.

In Gran Turismo 5[]

As a Standard Car, the Cien must be purchased from the used car dealership for approximately 1,500,000Cr. This requires an A-Spec or B-Spec level of 16 or higher. It can also be won from the MR Sports Cup in B-Spec Mode.

Trivia[]

In Gran Turismo 4, the Cadillac Cien can often be found as an AI car in championships in-which it is not allowed. For example, it usually appears in the Supercar Festival which prohibits the use of concept (non-production) cars.
